The Telegraph: The Digital Revolution Begins.

Did you know that one of the main reasons the telegraph was invented was due to a personal tragedy? Samuel Morse was waiting for a letter regarding his wife’s condition, but it arrived too late because it was sent by regular mail. From that day on, he decided to switch careers from being a famous painter to becoming an inventor, despite having no prior experience. He went on to become highly successful in his new field.

Did you know that Moris relied on his understanding that electricity could travel through certain materials like wires. This played a huge role in long distance communication. One of the political factors that morse faced was getting government funding and support for building the telegraph lines. Many people believed that this was more of of an idea and not a product. Morse saw the vision that long distance communication was the future and that by taking the simpler route he would be able to achieve his goal. He eventually got the support he deserved in 1843 and the last thing he needed to do was educate people on Morse code. The invention of the telegraph helped shape the world as we know it today. It drastically reduced the amount of time it took to send messages making it so loved ones and business can effectively communicate more efficiently.
